Pearl is developing AI-powered solutions designed to improve the quality and efficiency of dental care worldwide. Since 2019, the company has developed FDA-cleared computer vision technology for interpreting 2D and 3D dental imagery, supporting clinicians, dental practices, laboratories, and insurers. 


Pearl is seeking an experienced IT & Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist to manage its IT infrastructure while leading cybersecurity and privacy compliance programs. The position combines hands-on IT administration with ownership of compliance programs covering frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR. 


The role is listed as remote and full-time for candidates in the United States. 


Key Responsibilities:

IT Infrastructure & Systems Administration

Administer and maintain endpoint management, identity and access management (IAM), and SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, and Notion.


Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including account, hardware, and system-access provisioning and deprovisioning.


Maintain access controls, role-based permissions, and least-privilege practices.


Serve as the first point of escalation for internal IT support requests and resolve technical issues.


Manage the company’s device fleet, including MDM enrollment, patching, and compliance monitoring.


Monitor cloud infrastructure and SaaS configurations for security and availability.


Maintain IT asset inventory and software licensing. 


Cybersecurity & Privacy Compliance:

Conduct compliance gap assessments covering SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and related security and privacy requirements.


Develop and update security and privacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


Implement and monitor security-related KPIs.


Assess, document, and report security incidents and breaches.


Conduct security assessments and annual reviews of suppliers.


Review information security incidents and recommend corrective actions.


Manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).


Prepare for and manage security and privacy audits.


Complete security questionnaires for clients, vendors, and partners.


Monitor changes in security and privacy regulations and recommend policy updates. 



Compliance Tooling & Programs:

Administer Vanta or an equivalent GRC platform for compliance monitoring and evidence collection.


Design and manage security and privacy training programs for employees.


Conduct phishing simulation campaigns and related security-awareness training.


Facilitate recurring security committee meetings and management reviews. 



Qualifications

Candidates should have:


3+ years of experience in IT administration, systems management, or a combined IT/security role.


3+ years of experience implementing and maintaining SOC 2 certification.


3+ years of experience with HIPAA, GDPR, and other global privacy frameworks.


Experience managing compliance programs, audits, risk assessments, and CAPAs.


Hands-on experience with Vanta or similar compliance platforms.


Experience with endpoint management, IAM platforms, MDM solutions, and SaaS administration.


Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, incident response, and supplier risk management.


Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced environment. 



Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are considered a plus. 


Preferred Qualifications

Pearl also prefers candidates with:


Experience working at a SaaS company.


Experience in a medical device company or supporting FDA submissions.


Knowledge of ISO 27001, ISO 27701, CCPA, or other international security and privacy frameworks.


Experience managing phishing simulations and employee security-training programs.


Familiarity with SaaS compliance and customer-facing security requirements.


Google Workspace administration and IT helpdesk/ticketing experience.


Experience operating as a one-person or small-team IT function in a high-growth environment.
