About the Job
Empower AI is seeking a Service Portal Developer to build and continuously improve a modernized IT Service Portal serving approximately 13,000 users. The role focuses on developing portal pages, widgets, forms, knowledge experiences, automated workflows, and self-service features on an ITSM platform such as ServiceNow Service Portal / Employee Center.
The position works with UX designers, ITSM developers, and other stakeholders in an Agile environment while ensuring accessibility, responsive design, and government development standards.
⚠️ Hybrid role based in Quantico, VA, with remote work eligibility and up to 10% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain Service Portal/Employee Center pages, widgets, forms, and themes.
Use HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, AngularJS, or Next.js.
Develop self-service features, knowledge bases, automated request workflows, and ticket-management functions.
Ensure applications meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.x accessibility standards.
Analyze portal usage and user feedback to improve the platform.
Develop solutions using Microsoft 365/Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Online, and SPFx.
Maintain front-end and back-end web content using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Collaborate with UX designers and ITSM platform developers.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience; additional experience may substitute for the degree.
U.S. citizenship required.
Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level I baseline certification.
Active Secret Clearance required to start.
Must be eligible for investigation/continuous evaluation.
At least 3 years of web or Power Platform development experience in an enterprise environment.
Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front-end development.
Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and related Microsoft technologies.
Ability to work independently and solve complex problems.
