As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding systems, networks, and data through comprehensive vulnerability management and security assessments. The position is on-site in San Diego, CA and requires an active Secret clearance. 


Job Description

The Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for protecting systems, networks, and data by identifying vulnerabilities, assessing security risks, conducting security testing, and supporting compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).


Responsibilities Include

Perform comprehensive vulnerability management and security assessments to safeguard systems, networks, and data.


Identify and mitigate risks across software, hardware, and networking components.


Conduct system security testing during lab-based and site-based assessments.


Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize remediation efforts.


Ensure compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).


Maintain and update RMF documentation, including Security Controls artifacts.


Provide actionable recommendations to improve the organization's overall security posture. 


Here's What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related science field, or 3 years of equivalent experience.
  • Experience conducting STIG checks to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards.
  • Experience using industry best practices and tools to update systems and mitigate security risks.
  • Security+ Certification.
  • Ability to work on-site in San Diego, California. 



Bonus Points If You Have:

CISSP or CISA certifications.


Linux+ or RHSA certifications.


Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience.


Knowledge of SELinux, including MAC and DAC security mechanisms.


Previous networking experience.


Experience supporting ATO efforts and NIST 800-53 compliance may also be relevant to the role. 


Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required; dual citizens are not eligible.
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Candidates should be willing and able to travel up to 25% to customer sites, including CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • U.S. employment authorization must not require current or future visa sponsorship. 


Salary

$84,900 – $142,300 USD per year for the listed locations shown in the posting. Compensation can vary based on location, role, skills, and experience.
